About ten thousand teachers and educators require higher wages in Berlin

Baku. 26 February. REPORT.AZ/ About 10 thousand people took part in a strike organized by trade unions demanding 6% increase in wages for teachers and educators, Report informs citing  RIA Novosti.

The strike introduced the third round of negotiations between the German Civil Service and the landers. This round starts on February 28.

"In total, about ten thousand people took part in the action. Violations of public order are not recorded," the police said.

The demonstrators marched from Nordbahnhof station to the city center, carrying posters "Teachers - a decent salary", "a Decent salary to all citizens", "Teachers in schools receive less than a nanny". Protest was staged on Bebelplatz square with the audience chanting: "Strike"!

Protests are planned in a number of German cities, in particular, in Mainz, Saarbrücken, Heidelberg, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. A big rally will be held in Munich.
