Polish air force plane 'hijacked' during military exercise - UPDATED

The 'hijacking' of the Boeing 737-86X passenger airliner in Poland turned out to be a part of the Renegade/Sarex -21 drills under way from May 17 until May 21. According to Report, the plan of the exercises was posted on the official website of the country's Ministry of Defense.

"Four episodes will be developed during the exercises. The first will be related to hijacking a civilian airplane as a possible means of a terrorist attack that poses a threat to national security," the announcement reads.

Two other episodes will be related to what the army and rescuers should do if two ships collide.

And the last scenario provides for the search and rescue operations after an air crash in hard-to-reach places.
