As many as 28 people have been discharged from hospitals in the Chinese city of Shanghai today following the treatment from the new coronavirus. Of them, six donated their blood to those still sick, Report says, citing Xinhua.

Initial results have indicated the effectiveness of plasma transfusion in curing patients diagnosed with COVID-19 infection. Experts say the plasma of some curing people contains antibodies that can help fight coronavirus.

"Before I left the hospital, the nurse asked me if I wanted to donate blood for treatment and studying the disease. I thought I have a chance to help others after they helped me. Now that I have recovered, my blood contains the antibodies which can help those in critical condition, fighting the virus," one of the donors said.

According to a source from the local Health Ministry, 90 patients have been discharged from hospitals in Shanghai after recovering from coronavirus. He added that traditional Chinese medicine is used to cure patients in Shanghai in 90% of confirmed coronavirus cases.
