Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, 62, has announced her candidacy for the French presidency, Report informs via the Radio France Internationale.
Although Hidalgo is not the main favorite in the presidential race, her candidacy can significantly impact the outcome of the election.
Anne Hidalgo has been the mayor of Paris since 2014.
The French presidential election is scheduled for April 2022. The French president is elected for a five-year term.
