Over 600 drones seized during World Cup 2026 in US

American authorities have seized more than 600 drones launched near stadiums and other sports facilities since the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Andrew Giuliani, Executive Director of the White House Task Force on the FIFA World Cup, stated during a briefing for foreign journalists, Report informs.
"Since the beginning of the tournament, the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have seized more than 600 drones to ensure the safety of players, officials, and fans in stadiums and fan zones," Giuliani noted.
He added that the total number of drones confiscated so far is 646.
The director noted that in restricted flight zones around stadiums and fan areas, a total of 1,487 drones have been detected. Law enforcement identified 759 operators, issued 310 fines, and detained 13 individuals.
