Over 26,000 families in China caught in hurricane-affected area

Over 26,000 households in the Guizhou province in China's south have been affected by a hurricane which made landfall in the area of Kāiyáng and left several residents injured and traumatized, China's Central Television reports.
Report mentions, citing TASS, that according to official data, over 800 buildings and hundreds of hectares of sown areas were affected, with the damage amounting to nearly $15 million.
Authorities dispatched rescuers to the areas that suffered from the destructive power of the hurricane. Prompt work is underway to restore the damaged power distribution lines.
