More than 11,000 Egyptians and citizens of other states have been evacuated to Egypt from the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the escalation of tension in the Palestinian enclave, Report informs referring to TASS.

“Some 11,067 Egyptians and foreign citizens have been evacuated from the Gaza Strip since the sharp escalation of tension in the enclave began in October this year,” head of the Egyptian State Information Service, Diaa Rashwan, noted.

He added that the Egyptian authorities constantly keep the Rafah checkpoint open on the border with Gaza for the passage of private individuals and the delivery of humanitarian supplies, and “any obstacles at the border crossing are caused by the actions of the Israeli side.”

He said that, according to his information, from October 21 to the present, 3,313 trucks with humanitarian aid to Gazans, including fuel and household gas, have been sent to the strip. He added that 682 injured people were transferred from the Palestinian enclave to Egyptian territory.
