In the first six months of 2023, 7,861 people were expelled from Germany, which is about 27% more than in the same period last year, Report informs referring to Deutsche Welle.
At the same time, citizens of Georgia (705), North Macedonia (665) and Afghanistan (659) were most often deported from Germany.
At the same time, more than 500 deportation attempts were aborted, the most common reason for this was the resistance of the deportees and the refusal of pilots or airlines to transport them.
According to the authorities, as of June 30, there were 279,098 people in Germany who are subject to expulsion, but almost 225,000 of them are entitled to a deferral (Duldung).
