UAE-based Dana Gas, the operator of northern Iraq's Khor Mor gas field, has shut down its main production facilities due to credible security threats and escalating regional tensions, Al Jazeera reports, citing a company spokesman.
The suspension has reduced power generation capacity in the Iraqi Kurdistan region by 2,500 megawatts, according to the electricity ministry. The Khor Mor field, with its large gas reserves, is the main producer of the region's electricity.
