At least nine people have died, and eleven more are considered missing after the tropical storm Kompasu, accompanied by torrential rains, made landfall in the Philippines, Report informs, citing TASS.
The national department for combat with natural disasters confirmed that four people in the province of Benguet fell victims to landslides, while one more drowned in the region of Cagayan. Seven are considered missing.
"Eleven municipalities have been flooded, but this morning, the weather abated," a local official told AFP.
The situation remains the same in the province of Palawan, where the natural calamity claimed four lives and left four more missing. Nearly seven villages remain flooded, the local emergency services said.
