Nine killed as strong earthquake hits Philippines

Nine people died as a result of a powerful earthquake that occurred today in the Philippines, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.

More than 40 casualties are also reported.

The US Geological Survey reported that a magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck the Philippines.

The tremors also led to the destruction of infrastructure in different parts of the island of Mindanao.
