Nine die in storm that hit Oman and Iran

At least nine people died after the tropical cyclone Shaheen hit some areas in Iran and Oman.

Report informs, citing the BBC News, that the storm made landfall on Sunday, with the wind gusts reaching 120 to 150 km/hs.

Thousands of people were evacuated from the coastline areas of Oman. The streets of the capital city, Muscat, were flooded. Even before the cyclone made landfall in Oman, three people, including a child, died in the flooding. The images from Muscat feature cars flooded. Flights have been canceled. The residents of Al Ain, a city in the United Arab Emirates on the border with Oman, shifted to remote work on Monday and were instructed not to leave their homes, except for emergencies.

Iran said six people died in the port in the southeastern province of Sistan-Belujistan. The country's official media outlets reported damage to electricity infrastructure and roads.
