New Zealand will send a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft to Europe, as well as 50 military personnel who will be involved in the transport and distribution of military assistance to Ukraine, and will provide the country with $8.8 million in aid in various areas, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Monday.
She added that eight more logistics specialists would be sent to Germany to assist in transporting equipment and people to the border with Ukraine.
Also, the New Zealand government decided to allocate 13 million New Zealand dollars (about 8.8 million US dollars) in assistance to Ukraine. Of this amount, 7.5 million New Zealand dollars (about 5.1 million dollars) will be directed to the purchase of weapons and ammunition in the UK.
