Nearly 18M Afghans need humanitarian aid

Almost half of the population of Afghanistan - 18 million people - is in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, and about 4 million people have become IDPs, Chair of the European Parliament’s Development Committee Tomas Tobe said at an emergency joint hearing with the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Report informs referring to TASS.
As a result of droughts, the COVID pandemic, and the fighting in Afghanistan, almost half of the population of this country - 18 million people - need urgent humanitarian assistance, and nearly 4 million have become internally displaced persons, he said.
