NATO defense chiefs developing alliance’s expanded defense plans against Russia

NATO defense ministers have begun developing expanded plans for the alliance's defense against Russia on land, in the sky, at sea, and in cyberspace, Report informs citing TASS that NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said following the meeting of defense ministers.

According to him, NATO should reconsider the measures of collective deterrence, increase forces in the eastern part of the alliance.

At the same time, the secretary-general noted that the NATO countries unanimously believe that the alliance should not deploy forces in Ukraine, but it was decided to continue providing military and financial assistance to Kyiv.

Stoltenberg said next week's NATO summit will consider the long-term implications of the conflict in Ukraine for the alliance's defense.
