Munich shooting sparks urgent call between Israel and Germany presidents

In the wake of a shooting incident near the Israeli Consulate General in Munich, the presidents of Israel and Germany held an urgent telephone conversation to address the situation. Israeli President Isaac Herzog took to social media to express his gratitude to his German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, for the swift response of German law enforcement to the attacker's actions.

The two leaders jointly condemned the attack, which occurred on a day when the world was set to commemorate the brave Israeli athletes tragically killed by terrorists 52 years ago during the 1972 Munich Olympics. President Herzog described the attacker as a "hate-filled terrorist" who attempted to take innocent lives once again.
