MP of Verkhovna Rada: ‘I pay my respects to the people of Azerbaijan’

Since Russia's large-scale attack on Ukraine and during the 9 years that have passed since the annexation of Crimea in general, Azerbaijanis, like all citizens of our country, have shown themselves in a good light, said Sviatoslav Yurash, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Report informs.

According to him, Azerbaijani citizens of Ukraine stood up for the defense of the country: “I have personally seen Azerbaijanis participating in battles around Lysychansk. I pay my respects to the people of Azerbaijan who sacrificed their sons for the defense of Ukraine. At the same time, I am proud that Ukrainians also died for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. When I was in Baku, they told me about the war of the 90s and how some Ukrainians participated in its defense by not leaving the country. Our countries have the same idea of peace. We will do our best to protect our territorial integrity. Thank you very much for being with us on this journey.”
