Merkel: East Germany will become developed only in 50 years

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that alignment of the living conditions in the east and west of Germany could probably happen in half a century, Report informs citing Gazeta.Ru.
She regretted that this could happen faster after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
At the same time, A. Merkel emphasized that this topic is being increasingly discussed in German society in connection with the increasing nationalist and protectionist tendencies in the world.
