Macron: Only Ukraine should determine conditions for negotiations with Russia

Kyiv itself must determine the conditions for negotiations with Moscow, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday, speaking in the European Parliament at a conference on the future of Europe.

"We are not at war with Russia," the French leader said. He called for "preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, restoring peace on the continent."

"Only Ukraine should determine the terms of negotiations with Russia," Macron said.
