The pension reform proposed by the French government will "continue its democratic path" and should come into force before the end of the year, French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview with TF1 and France 2 TV channels.
“This text will continue its democratic path,” Macron said, recalling that all formal procedures, including debates in parliament and a vote of confidence in the government after the adoption of the bill, bypassing parliament, were followed. “We need to wait for the official position of the Constitutional Council on the bill.” He also expressed hope that the reform "will come into force before the end of the year."
