Liquid natural gas tank fire forces evacuations in Oklahoma

Emergency services are responding to a liquid natural gas tank fire near Highway 75 and West 126th Street in Glenpool, Oklahoma, US, Report informs referring to the Fox23.

Two tanks have exploded and remain on fire. Crews are on scene working to mitigate the fire and prevent further spread.

The Glenpool Police Department said the areas of West 126th Street and South Elwood Avenue and West 126th Street and Casper Street are shut down.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area. Alternate routes will be available at West 121st Street South and South Elwood Avenue.

Highway 75 remains open, but drivers are encouraged to use caution if they must travel the highway.

Police said no injuries or other fires have been reported at this time. All surrounding businesses and residence have been evacuated.

Glenpool Public Schools is sheltering in place as a precaution.
