Libya’s first-ever female FM takes office

Libya’s first-ever female Foreign Minister, Najla Mangoush, took over her duties from her predecessor, Mohamed Siala, at a ceremony in the Ministry in the capital Tripoli March 16, Report informs referring to Libya Herald.
In the Government of National Unity of Libya run by Abdul Hamid Dbeiba, ministerial posts were taken by five women. Najla Mangoush received her law degree first at the University of Benghazi, and later continued her education in the US.
At the ceremony of inaugurating the Cabinet of Ministers in parliament in Tobruk on March 15, she was the only one not wearing a hijab.
