Kremlin responds to NATO Secretary-General

Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has responded to NATO's calls, Report informs via RIA Novosti.

Peskov said that the West wanted to increase tensions on purpose.

"The information policy of the United States and NATO on Ukraine is full of lies. Russia does not threaten anyone. Western statements are an excuse to deploy more NATO troops near Russia's borders," he stressed.

Earlier on February 19, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg called on Russia to withdraw its troops from the Ukrainian border.
