Kazakhstan, China launch joint digital platform for grain, agricultural trade

Kazakhstan and China have launched a joint digital platform for trade in grain and agricultural products, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

It is noted that the new tool creates a direct channel of interaction between exporters and Chinese buyers.

According to the press service, the first practical result of the platform's work was the signing of a contract for the supply of 24,000 tons of flax.

The launch of the platform took place as part of the Kazakh delegation's participation in the 8th China Grain Trade Conference.

Thirty-five Kazakh companies have already registered on the trading platform. At the first stage, trade in grain and oilseed crops, as well as vegetable oil and fat-and-oil industry products, will be carried out through the platform. In the future, the list of goods may be expanded taking into account the demand of the Chinese market.

The operator of the platform is the Grain Trade Coordination Center of the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration of the PRC (NAFRA).
