In Amman, a member of the royal family, Sherif Hassan Ben Zeid, and a former adviser to King Abdullah II, ex-finance minister Bassem Awadallah, were arrested, Report informs with reference to the Jordanian agency Petra.
The report indicates that several people were detained "for security reasons."
In turn, the pan-Arab Al-Mayadin TV broadcast about the disclosure of "a conspiracy to remove Abdullah II from power" in Amman. According to the channel, former Crown Prince Hamzah bin Hussein and several high-ranking officers are under house arrest.
The Jordanian news agency Petra does not confirm the information about the house arrest of the former crown prince.
