Japan: Coronavirus cases jump to record high

The number of new confirmed cases increased by 400 over the past day, which was a record for the entire time in Japan, Kyodo Agency informs. The most significant increase registered in Tokyo (144), which also became a record figure.

Thus, the total number of infected people in Japan exceeded 5,8 thousand people, including passengers and crew members of the American cruise ship Diamond Princess, which was under quarantine for a month in the port of Yokohama. Today, another person became a victim of the COVID-19 in Japan, bringing the total number of fatalities to 109. The day before, the country recorded only one death form the infection.
