A government official from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will visit Israel on October 20 for the first time in history, Report says, citing Israeli media.

Minister of State Ubayd al-Taer at the UAE Ministry of Finance will lead the delegation.

The UAE guests will be welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, and National Security Council President Meir Ben Shabbat at Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv in the afternoon. US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will accompany the delegation.

The parties will sign agreements in the field of investment protection, aviation, science, and technology. Simultaneously, the contract to be signed between the two countries on introducing a visa-free regime is even more important. Thus, the UAE will be the first Arab country to introduce a visa-free regime with Israel.
