Baku. 22 November. REPORT.AZ/ Baghdad intends to increase oil exports from fields in the Northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk to the port of Ceyhan in southern Turkey. Report informs citing the Anadolu that the due statement came from Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi.
""The export of Kirkuk oil through the Kursk regional administration of Iraq (KRAI) has begun. The government plans to increase the volume of supplies from the current 60,000 barrels per day to 100,000 barrels," the Prime Minister said speaking to reporters during a weekly briefing in Baghdad.
He added that "friendly" relations were established between the Central government in Baghdad and the Kurdish Regional Administration of Iraq (KRAY).
Kirkuk and its oil fields were under the control of KRAY authorities during the three years. After an attempt to hold an illegal referendum in KRAY on September 25, 2017, the Central government of Iraq and its supporting forces carried out an operation to clean up Kirkuk and other disputed territories. Baghdad stopped the export of oil from Kirkuk to the port of Ceyhan after establishing control over Kirkuk and other territories.
