IndiGo plane hits pole during parking at Srinagar Airport

The upright metal pole went sideways as an IndiGo plane ran into it during parking at the Srinagar airport in India, Report informs via NDTV.

The flight, operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar, got into the accident while being positioned at Bay No. 6 at the airport at 9 am (GMT+5:30).

"IndiGo flight 6E 225, operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar on September 4 came in contact with a parking stand pole during parking, after safely landing at Srinagar International Airport," the airline said in a statement.

All passengers and crew members are safe, and no injuries have been reported. Passengers and crew were safely deboarded using manual aircraft stairs.

"All customers and crew are safe and have deplaned the aircraft. In line with established protocols, the relevant authorities were immediately informed, and together we are investigating the matter. The aircraft has been grounded for necessary maintenance and will resume operations after securing required clearances," the airline said.

Meanwhile, airport operations remain normal, with flight arrivals and departures continuing as per schedule.

The airline underlined that the safety and security of its customers and staff are its topmost priority.
