India sets new record for daily COVID cases

Over the past day, India has recorded 386,452 new COVID infection cases, the highest figure in the country since the beginning of the pandemic, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.
India has the second biggest number of detected COVID cases in the world. According to the latest data from the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, over 18.7 million cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country. More than 15.3 million people have recovered, 208,000 people have died with coronavirus and related diseases.
At the same time, the ministry noted that more than 152 million people were vaccinated against coronavirus in India, in the last day alone the number of vaccinated people increased by 2.2 million.
