India sees another record hike in COVID incidence

Over the past day, India registered 168,912 new cases of coronavirus, which is the largest daily increase since the pandemic onset, Report informs referring to the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Having surpassed Brazil, India now ranks second in the world in the number of detected coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, a total of 13,527,717 million cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country.
More than 12.1 million people have defeated the disease, and about 1.2 million are continuing treatment.
The country’s death toll has exceeded 170,209 as of April 12.
The Health Ministry also noted that over the past day, 904 COVID-related deaths were registered in the country.
