A devastating heatwave has gripped India, claiming the lives of at least 211 people, Report informs via Times of India.
The state of Odisha has witnessed a sharp rise in fatalities, with additional reports of heat-related deaths emerging from the states of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
Over the past two weeks, northern and central regions of India, along with some western areas, have been grappling with scorching temperatures ranging from 45 to 46 degrees Celsius (113 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit). In some places, the mercury has soared to an unbearable 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit).
