India's daily COVID incidence surpasses 400,000, breaking another record

Over the past day, India recorded 401,993 new cases of coronavirus infection in 24 hours, which is the highest recorded daily incidence to date, Report informs referring to the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As of May 1, over 19.1 million Indians have contracted the novel coronavirus at least once.
The number of COVID-related deaths increased by 3,523 over the past day and reached 211,853.
The most affected regions of India are the states of Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, as well as the national capital district of Delhi. At the same time, the state of Maharashtra holds the record for the highest incidence (66,358 cases per day; 4,410,085 cases since pandemic onset).
