Hungary will buy gas from Russia and West, Szijjártó says

Hungary intends to purchase additional gas from both Russia and Western countries, Report informs, citing foreign media.

"I am negotiating the purchase of 732 million cubic meters in both dominant directions, that is, in the East and in the West," Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Peter Szijjártó said.

According to him, he himself made the decision to buy gas from Russia, and during his visit to Moscow he voiced his position that 732 million cubic meters of gas currently "cannot be bought on the market without Russian sources."

"So I would like to buy this quantity partly from Russian and partly from other Western trade sources," Szijjártó added.

At the same time, the Hungarian Foreign Minister noted that the negotiations are ongoing, and he "would not like to speculate" about their results. Szijjarto promised to announce their results next week.
