Houthis threaten to target US ships if Washington enters Iran-Israel conflict

The Houthis from Yemen's rebel "Ansar Allah" movement have announced their intention to strike US ships and naval vessels in the Red Sea if the United States directly supports Israel in its conflict with Iran.

According to Report, the warning was issued by Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Houthi-formed armed forces, during a broadcast on Al Masirah, the movement’s affiliated TV channel.

"If the US becomes involved in Israel's aggression against Iran, our armed forces will target their ships and warships in the Red Sea," Saree declared.

This comes as Israel launched a military operation against Iran on the night of June 13, aiming to disrupt Tehran's nuclear and missile programs. Less than 24 hours later, Iran responded with a counterstrike. Since then, both nations have exchanged further attacks, reporting casualties and damage to several targets. The reciprocal strikes are ongoing.
