Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on the annexed Crimean Peninsula during the night of June 23. A major fire broke out at a thermal power plant in Kerch, leaving half of the peninsula without electricity.
According to Report, citing RBC-Ukraine, the strike targeted a thermal power plant in the Arshintsevo district of Kerch. According to available information, a fuel storage tank was hit.
Satellite imagery also reportedly recorded a smoke plume stretching approximately 47 kilometers.
The Crimean authorities, for their part, stated that power outages were caused by "technological disruptions in electrical networks." Electricity supply is expected to be restored within 24 hours.
At the same time, Ukrainian drone strikes caused a fire at the Nasosnaya-2 substation in the Sovetsky district. Later, residents of the peninsula reported an attack on the TES-Terminal petroleum storage complex.
