UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is set to meet with the leaders of the Turkish and Greek Cypriot communities—President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and President Nikos Christodoulides of the Republic of Cyprus—to advance discussions on the Cyprus issue, Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric told journalists, Report informs.
According to Dujarric, the meeting will be held at the UN headquarters: "The Secretary-General invited the parties to informal trilateral discussions to discuss progress on the Cyprus issue."
He mentioned that the tripartite meeting is planned for October, although the exact date remains to be confirmed. The spokesman also conveyed gratitude to both leaders for agreeing to participate in these discussions.
