Germany to give Ukraine more weapons

Ukraine and Germany reached an agreement on the supply of more weapons to Kyiv, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Berlin Oleksii Makeiev said in an interview with the Welt am Sonntag newspaper, Report informs via TASS.
"During the direct talks, we were promised more weapons and additional ammunition," he said. He noted that the sides will later announce which weapons are going to be supplied.
However, according to the ambassador, Ukraine needs air defense systems and howitzers.
Makeiev also said that Kyiv "continues to negotiate" the supply of Leopard 2 tanks, which Berlin has repeatedly refused to send.
In October, the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection informed that the German authorities at the beginning of the year had issued permits to supply military products to Ukraine for €775 million. Among the weapons provided by Berlin to Kyiv were self-propelled howitzers, Mars multiple launch rocket systems, self-propelled Gepard installations, IRIS-T air defense system and Dingo armored vehicles.
