Germany increases gas prices for population

The cost of electricity and gas keeps rising in Germany, as evidenced by data on Check24.

So, since August, 98 companies serving household consumers have announced an increase in gas prices.

Three companies more than doubled the price. The increase in gas prices made 17.3% on average. In September, nearly 50 more companies were among those gas suppliers that increased prices.

So utility bills of a household in Germany can grow by 263 euros.

The main reason for the rise in prices is the increase in global energy demand due to the economic recovery following the pandemic.
