Germany may return to normal life by beating the coronavirus pandemic in the spring of 2022, German Minister of Health Jens Spahn said in his interview with the Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper.
Report informs that, according to him, if no new variant resistant to vaccines appears, the country can return to normal life by beating the pandemic in the spring of 2022.
The minister said that herd immunity would be achieved sooner or later.
"This can be achieved either through vaccinating or by contracting the virus. Vaccination is a safer way. As the number of vaccinations grows, the infection cases will drop. It will help protect children whose vaccination is not yet possible," he said.
The minister noted that over 67% of the German population received their first dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine.
