The German government has decided to allocate €200 million as urgent aid to eliminate the consequences of the devastating floods. The federal lands will provide another €200 million, Federal Minister of Germany for Finance Olaf
"We are mobilizing urgent aid. As part of it, we now need about €400 million, and the government has offered €200 million," Scholz said.
The minister noted that the federal authorities, when deciding on aid, were guided by the amounts that were allocated to eliminate the consequences of previous floods. "If more is needed, we will provide more money," he assured.
In addition to urgent assistance, the authorities are planning to create a fund to restore the destroyed infrastructure.
