General Assembly suspends Russia's participation in UN HRC

The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution suspending Russia's work in the UN Human Rights Council, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti that 93 states voted for the resolution. Against - 24. Abstained - 58.
The draft resolution was prepared by a number of Western countries, including the United States, Ukraine, and Latvia. Such a move is being taken against Moscow because of the actions in Ukraine.
According to the resolution, the General Assembly "decides to suspend the rights of Russia's membership in the UN Human Rights Council". At the same time, the text says that the General Assembly decides to "revise the issue if necessary".
