New Zealand police detained four people on Friday after mass shootings at two mosques in the city of Christchurch, Report informs citing New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush.

He confirmed that four are in custody. "Three are men and one is a woman."

“There were a few reports of IEDs strapped to vehicles which we were able to secure,” he said, referring to improvised explosive devices.

According to local media reports, the shooting in mosques in New Zealand was opened by Australian resident Brenton Tarrant. He was broadcasting the attack on Facebook.

At least 27 people were killed and another 40 injured in the shooting opened in Al Noor and Linwood Masjids in Christchurch, New Zealand.
