Baku. 1 February. REPORT.AZ/ “The decision made by the European Parliament (EP) to recognize the leader of the Venezuelan opposition Juan Guaido an interim President of Venezuela may lead to a civil war in the Bolivarian Republic," Turkish foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu said.

Report informs citing the TASS that he spoke during a trip to Bucharest.

"We do not believe that the decision made by the European Parliament on Venezuela is right, we consider that interference in the internal affairs of a state can lead to the outbreak of the civil war," the Turkish FM said.

Notably, the speaker of the Venezuelan parliament and opposition leader Juan Guaido declared himself an interim president during a rally in Caracas on January 23.
