Finland's armed forces have imposed temporary restrictions on airspace and maritime traffic off the coast of Kotka and Hamina in the eastern Gulf of Finland, according to Finnish broadcaster Yle.
The restricted area extends from the Kaunissaari isthmus in the west to the Port of Hamina in the north.
Finland's General Staff said the measures are preventive and linked to Ukrainian drone attacks on targets in Russia. The restrictions are intended to ensure that the military can safely intercept any drones that may inadvertently enter Finnish territory if necessary.
