European Parliament's two leading parties lose majority for the first time

The two leading parties of the European Parliament lost majority for the first time. Report informs citingTASS that it is evidenced by the preliminary results of the elections in the EP.
The Group of European People's Party (EPP) and Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) ranked first and second.
As noted, the parties for the first time in history lost a joint majority of mandates.
The projection has EPP and S&D winning 173 seats and 147 seats respectively, in the 751-member legislature.
Alliance of liberals and Democrats for Europe which received 108 seats in the European Parliament closed top three.
