EU allocates €157 million to Moldova after reform milestones

The European Commission has allocated €157 million in financial support to Moldova under its Growth Plan after the country fulfilled 18 reform commitments.

According to Report, citing Moldovan media, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos announced the funding during a meeting of the Moldova-European Union Association Council in Brussels.

Kos said the next tranche of financial support for Moldova was aimed at promoting economic growth and creating new jobs.

Under the Growth Plan, Moldova is expected to receive up to €1.9 billion for the 2025-2027 period, making it the largest financial assistance package ever provided to Chisinau.

"Moldova has implemented extremely important reforms to secure the disbursement of these funds. We now need to step up our efforts so that the Growth Plan delivers concrete results. If you continue on this path, you could receive more than €500 million under the Growth Plan this year," she said.
