EP calls for admission of Romania, Bulgaria to Schengen by 2023

The European Parliament called on the countries of the European Union to accept Romania and Bulgaria into the Schengen area before the end of this year, Report informs, with reference to the resolution of the European Parliament adopted today.

According to the MEPs, both countries have met the required criteria.

The EP resolution notes that the admission of Romania and Bulgaria to Schengen by the end of 2022 will allow putting an end to checks at internal borders from the beginning of 2023.
