China has received aid from 11 countries and UNICEF to fight the novel coronavirus, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said on Monday.

"Since the start of the new coronavirus outbreak in China, several countries have expressed their understanding and supported China in different ways. China has received aid from South Korea, Japan, Great Britain, France, Turkey, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Iran, Belarus, Indonesia and UNICEF in the form of goods to prevent and control the epidemic," the diplomat said.

She added that China is in great need of medications, protective clothing, eye-glasses, and masks. On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities reported to the World Health Organization an outbreak of unspecified pneumonia in Wuhan, in the central part of the country.
