EASA urges aviation companies to avoid flying over Belarus

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has recommended that aviation companies avoid Belarusian airspace amid the incident with the forced landing of a Ryanair airplane in Minsk.

The agency said that the circumstances of this incident cause serious doubts about Belarus's respect to international rules of civil aviation, Report informs, citing DW.

The statement reads that the actions adopted by Belarus are equal to creating an increased risk for the security of this flight and that these actions have cast doubts on Belarus's ability to ensure safe air navigation.

In this respect, the EASA recommended that the airlines use Belarusian airspace only in the worst extremity.
